Will Foster's Happy Thanksgiving!

Will Foster was released from prison the day before Thanksgiving.
He called me from Oklahoma on Thanksgiving Day, with much gratitude for everyone who was pulling for him.
Much thanks to Ed Rosenthal and Jane Klein!!
And of course to his partner Susie, and daughter Anna.

And it was a wonderful Thanksgiving Day treat for me to have Will Foster himself call my cell phone yesterday.
It was 1 month earlier that I got to testify (by phone) at his Oklahoma parole board hearing on October 28..
I didn't know the results til Jane Klein's email a day before his release

He sounded great and happy to be spending Thanksgiving with his friend Oren and his dad.
I understand that his daughter Anna is on her way to Oklahoma.

Hurray for Will Foster!!
Free all Drug War prisoners!

Hi Frank, I am so sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I am working 3 jobs to keep my head above water. I just spoke to Will and read him your email. It is great and thank you for all your help. We all appreciate you very much.

Monday Will has an appointment with his attorney on what we are going to do with the 2015 parole thing since the judge said his sentence should be done and time served. Basically Will has spent the last 2 years fighting for his freedom and we are back to where we started, this sucks. I will call you as soon as I hear what the ODOC decides.

Thanks,

Sooz

Hi Frank,

What a blessing! The DOC admitted that there were obvious mistakes and that this was an extraordinary rare case!!! Ya right!!! This happens all the time they just don't get caught.

There were 2 different press editors at Will's hearing to put a little more pressure on them. They still need to figure out what Will's ending date is. it's really 2011 but they were saying 2015.

The parole officer admitted on stand that the original release dates did say 2011 but then it was changed "by her" but she did not admit that she was the one who changed it!

She just said she did not know how or who changed it but we have a letter from
Ms. Lynda Forrester stating that they made a mistake in his time and that now Will's NEW release date is 2015. We caught her.

The ODOC said that Will should be released in under a month and back to CA parole but Will wants to finish his time and be done with Oklahoma. So they can't mess with him anymore.

I will let you know as soon as I hear what he decides. If we hammer governor Brad Henry he might just pardon the rest of Will's time and he will be a free man. Either way all is looking much better, no more 2028

Thanks again,

Susie

Hi Susie,
I DID get to testify my phone yesterday as planned, but have not heard how the rest of the hearing went, or any decisions that were made about Will.
Please have the attorney call or email me with follow-up.
I hope Will is released soon.

Angel Raich brain surgery update 11/1/09

Angel Raich brain surgery update 11/1/09

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I visited Angel Raich at home Sunday 11/1, and she gave me permission
to say a few things. She had her brain surgery Wednesday 10/28. She
was not allowed to use her vaporizer in the hospital so they
discharged her home Saturday morning, where she has her mother, and
other friends to care for her. She's awake, alert, and moves all four
extremities, and other than pain and regaining her appetite after 4
days without cannabinoids, she looks good. Apparently the neurosureon
was able take most of the tumor, and the rest he got with a cyber-knife.
Both the neurosurgeon John Adler, and the anesthesiologist pushed to
let her be allowed to vaporize in hospital. I explained the precedent
of Alta Bates Hospital allowing her to vaporize in her hospital room
some years ago. Unfortunately, Stanford hospital found the volcano to
not meet hospital standards.*
This was unfortunate, and very painful for Angel, but she is amazing:
happy to be alive, having her memory intact, and wonders what's next
for her.You can see her history and brain scan on her site, at

*electical appliance around Oxygen was cited. I think that an institution like Stanford University is ripe to develop more appropriate policies than early discharge after neurosurgery.
Hmmm....And it looks like there should be a race to be the first vaporizer to meet hospital standards...
Your heard it here first.
